Innovative Crew Response Simulation for Future Maritime Operations
I successfully participated in a cutting-edge study commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (Rijkswaterstaat). This role-playing simulation focused on optimizing crew responses during high-demand, high-pressure scenarios, specifically designed for navigation through the complex wind farms in the North Sea—one of the most critical maritime environments of the future.
By 2030, with an increasing number of offshore wind farms, safe and efficient navigation in these areas will be more vital than ever. As a second officer in the simulation, I was part of a team tasked with testing real-world operational strategies and decision-making processes under challenging conditions. The results of this study will play a crucial role in shaping the future of maritime safety, operational efficiency, and the integration of new technologies, ultimately enhancing the sustainability of offshore wind energy development.
This experience offers a valuable opportunity for organizations in maritime safety, infrastructure, and renewable energy to leverage insights that will drive innovation, reduce risks, and improve operational performance as we approach the 2030 maritime landscape.

Presentation at the European Navigation Conference 2023
As an employee of Stena Line B.V., I had the privilege of presenting my Master’s Thesis at the prestigious European Navigation Conference 2023. During my presentation, I showcased how my cutting-edge graphical user interface (GUI) can drive substantial fuel savings through intuitive visualizations and easy-to-use controls. By presenting tangible, real-world applications and proven results, I demonstrated the transformative potential of emerging technologies to improve both safety and operational efficiency. This innovative approach positions Stena Line as a forward-thinking leader in the maritime industry, committed to sustainability and optimizing performance for the future.
